Helen got me in the best possible condition for the London Marathon. Without her dedication, encouragement and advice I would never have achieved my lifelong ambition.

Running forms the basis of most sports. Yet we are, in the main, particularly inefficient at it.
Helen Mulhall took up running 15 years ago and immediately developed a taste for marathons. Whilst she does participate in shorter distances the marathon has been where she has proved herself - this year coming first lady in Hull Marathon with a personal best time of 3.01.40. According to Run Britain's Power of Ten this makes her the 31st fastest V40 Lady in Great Britain this year. She has also run a half marathon personal best this year.
Via her own personal journey Helen has realised that if you want to increase your speed and/or distance then you cannot simply "just run". Running on its own is very repetitive and requires good movement skills, strength and form. It is also important to allow for recovery within your training. It made sense therefore for her to train as a distance running coach with England Athletics specialising in distances from 5k and upwards. She has added this to her interest in Biomechanics and injury prevention to be able to advise on all aspects of running. Her "proud moment" this year was her 67 year old client completing his first marathon, having taken up running only three years ago (when he met Helen in fact!)
