Running forms the basis of most sports. Yet we are, in the main, particularly inefficient at it.

Helen Mulhall took up running just over 15 years ago and immediately developed a taste for marathons.  Whilst she does participate in shorter distances the marathon has been where she has proved herself - she was first lady over the line in 2015 in Hull Marathon with a personal best time of 3.01.40.  She won the race again in 2017 over the new course making her, at the time, the ladies record holder for both courses!   She has run a half marathon PB in 2018 and as at May 2018 she is ranked 25th V45 in the country on the Run Britain National Ladder.

Via her own personal journey Helen has realised that if you want to increase your speed and/or distance then you cannot simply "just run".  Running on its own is very repetitive and requires good movement skills, strength and form.  It is also important to allow for recovery within your training.  It made sense therefore for her to train as a distance running coach with England Athletics specialising in distances from 5k and upwards.  She has added this to her interest in Biomechanics and injury prevention to be able to advise on all aspects of running.   Her "proud moment" was again in 2015; her 67 year old client completing his first marathon, having taken up running only three years previous (when he met Helen in fact!)
