I can feel so many muscles work, ones that I never knew I had. I also had a back problem, which I can now say is much better. It makes me feel refreshed and charged for the week.

Balance Mind & Body Studio is a bespoke and tranquil setting where you can escape and focus on your own wellbeing.
We offer an exciting and varied range of classes which we hope will meet your needs. Our instructors are all independent professionals with a wealth of knowledge and passion in their own field. As well as group classes we can arrange one to one sessions on request.
Choose the class that's right for you:
Gentle / Beginners - If you like a gentle class or are very new to yoga, this is your ideal place to start. We explore foundation poses and variations to suit our individual needs.
Strength & Flow - This class definitely takes us up a level in terms of challenge! We combine strength work with a faster paced flow which will certainly wake you up on a Monday morning!
Stretch & Strengthen - In these classes we move through a sequence of movements designed to improve both strength and flexibility. Suitable for all levels, there are always options to make the class suit you, whether to make it less or more challenging.
Yoga for Sport - Similar in style to the Stretch & Strengthen classes but with a little more focus on functional movement designed to complement sports. These sessions aim to improve strength and range of motion and to help prevent injury.
This well established popular exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates connects the body and mind using a regime of exercises and breathing. Pilates corrects posture, restores vitality, promotes wellbeing thereby re-balancing the body. It has been strongly advocated by professionals in both the medical and sporting arenas for its benefits and for many clients has become an integral part of their lives. At the studio classes are small ensuring a high level of supervision tailored to individual’s needs and a variety of small equipment such as weights, rollers and bands can be used. Everyone can benefit from Pilates.

Beginners - for those new to or returning to pilates after a period of years. In this class you will learn the principles of pilates
Beginners + - for those that understand the basic principles of pilates and are starting to build on strength
Mixed - for those that can maintain a good centre and are building on strengthening but may find it challenging to maintain in all positions
Intermediate - those that can maintain correct positioning in all positions and are being challenged with more dynamic flows
Advanced - a faster paced class with more emphasis on using body weight as resistance utilising more dynamic flow sequences
Strength and Balance Class
All the exercises within the class can be done seated or standing (there are no floor exercises) and are therefore suitable for everyone including people with reduced mobility. The aerobic section (with music) warms our body, loosen up our joints and increase our heart rate. The exercises can be done standing or seated and options are given for lower or higher intensity. After 20 minutes of movement with different music, we sit down and get ready for the strength part of the class using resistance bands and small weights. Once finished we add pelvic floor and balance work which are followed by memory or coordination games. After the fun, we end the class with seated stretches and a cool down. These Strength and Balance classes are a great place to keep fit and mobile, have fun and meet new people. Come and try it, your first session is FREE.
Abdominals, Core & Pelvic Floor Class (ACPF)
The ACPF class 1.30-2.30pm is suitable for all levels & abilities. This unique class incorporates training & thorough understanding of Pelvic Diaphragm, ‘Core’ , Abdominals, Posture, & Gait. Train effectively & learn how these vital areas work & how they affect - and are affected by - the menopause, ageing, health & exercise.
Barre Sculpt is a ballet inspired workout for non-dancers. Taking techniques and influence from classical ballet, Barre Sculpt shall tone, strengthen and lengthen your muscles without adding bulk. It is a low impact form of exercise so it is gentle on your joints and suitable for all ages. Barre Sculpt will develop your core strength, balance and flexibility whilst helping you to achieve the posture and poise of a dancer.
All classes are suitable for everyone from beginners to professionals however the classes do get progressively harder over each 8 week term.
Nia is a fabulous way to get fit leaving you feeling Stronger, Leaner, More Energised and yet Relaxed. A complete body and mind workout. Suitable for all ages and abilities. It is low impact and is therefore kind on the body. One does Nia barefoot to Glorious music taken at your own level and pace.. "Your Body's Way" as we say in Nia. It’s a great way to start your Sunday leaving you feeling energised and refreshed...
Nia blends elements of Tai Chi, Yoga, Jazz and many, many more - a complete workout that your body will LOVE.
